About ON Animation Studios
Driven by world-class technical and creative talents with offices in Montreal, Paris, and Los Angeles, ON is the independent animation studio of the ON Kids & Family group, a leading European studio specializing in the production of television series and feature films.
Based in Montreal since 2015, ON produced and created the pipeline for Mune: Guardian of the Galaxy and The Little Prince, still the most successful French animated movie in the world.
ON is currently working on Playmobil The Movie, set to release in over 80 countries, and continuing to expand its compelling portfolio of engaging and unique blockbusters with two more feature films: Badalisc and Slumberland in its brand new 25 000 square feet studios.

Targetted Start Date: January 7 2019

Mandate duration: 3 months

Location of work: Paris, Montreal or remote

Your mission at ON:

  • Participate in the development and creative evolution of the VR project;
  • In collaboration with the directions defined by the creative team (story, themes and user experience), suggest and design the various game mechanics, the game’s logic and overall game experience;
  • Implement, balance and polish gameplay mechanics, and enhance their development with other teams throughout production;
  • Write and maintain design documentation, and iterate on existing systems to make them shine;
  • Work and cooperate with all other departments involved in game development (as assigned) to ensure every game element supports the design and smooth implementation of that design.

Your qualifications :

  • 3-5 years in the gaming industry in a design role;
  • Knowledge or experience with arcade projects and/or games intended for a pre-teen and family audience (asset);
  • Formal education in game design or related experience;
  • At least one experience in VR or in an immersive game;
  • Ability to take ownership of game systems and their design from concept through to delivery;
  • Knowledge of Unity (required);
  • Knowledge of a scripting language (asset);
  • Experience with rapid prototyping (greyboxing before integration);
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French;
  • Autonomous, able to work in a team, capable of making proposals.
